Bradley Arant Boult Cummings and Partner Wayne Drinkwater Recognized for Fifth Circuit Work by Benchmark Appellate

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP and Jackson, MS partner W. Wayne Drinkwater have received top-tier recognition for appellate work in the Fifth Circuit in the debut edition of Benchmark Appellate, which evaluates leading U.S. appeals litigation firms and attorneys. Benchmark Appellate ranked the firm as Highly Recommended, and named Mr. Drinkwater a Fifth Circuit Litigation Star.

Published by Euromoney’s Legal Media Group, Benchmark Appellate was spawned by the 5-year-old Benchmark Litigation, the publisher’s hallmark publication that focuses on trial-level litigators and law firms. Benchmark Appellate’s rankings are subcategorized according to law firms’ and their attorneys’ respective federal circuits. Rankings were determined through research interviews with litigators and their clients.

“This is a tremendous honor, both for the firm and for Wayne,” said Firm Chairman Beau Grenier. “It is gratifying to see our work singled out by our peers and clients in such a prominent way.”

A firm client quoted by Benchmark Appellate wrote “I chose to retain Bradley Arant based on personal referrals, experience, and prior record. Bradley Arant’s appellate team offers exceptional writing and advocacy experience, and they get results. Other firms don’t compare.” The guide went on to say that Bradley Arant Boult Cummings “boasts formidable bench strength and depth.”

Benchmark Appellate noted Mr. Drinkwater “regularly heads the firm’s largest and most high-profile appeals inside and outside of the Fifth Circuit,” and referenced the “more than 30 state and federal appeals he has argued across circuits” during his career. The guide specifically called attention to Mr. Drinkwater’s pro bono work, noting his “substantial contributions to the community” and work “on behalf of abused and neglected children.”
